High Fashion College Wallet: Saint Laurent Fall/Winter 2014

The Saint Laurent Fall/Winter 2014 at New York Fashion Week presented a remix of the mid-sixties pop movement in London. The line showcased capes, tweedy coats, lapel blazers, tartan skirts and school girl pleated minis paired with Mary Janes or knee high boots. Saint Laurent designer Hedi Slimane drew inspiration from artist John Baldessari’s appropriation in art to create a parallel between art and youth culture. While these looks are ready-to-wear, the cost is not as attainable; however, similar looks can be found in places not as detrimental to the college budget.
